Beşiktaş mayor Mr. Rıza Akpolat has started an awareness campaign on gender mainstreaming through social media with the hashtag #EşitlikEvdeBaşlar (Gender equality begins at home) and invited all citizens to support the campaign and share responsibilities.
The campaign has three central messages: 1. No women’s work, no men’s work; just housework. 2. Everyone can manage to clean the house. 3. Taking care of children is a common task of both parents. Read more (in Turkish) here.
